Highlights of the Program

• A full four-year scholarship to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School
• School-based support from a full-time education professional
• A summer program filled with educational and enrichment experiences.
• A community of other young women who share similar goals and a strong focus on academic success.

Requirements

• Maintain a 3.0/85% grade point average each quarter.
• Maintain a conduct grade of at least 90 each quarter.
• Attend Sunday Mass each week.
• Participate in the summer residential and service program.
• Conduct yourself in a way consistent with Catholic morals, teachings and values.

Eligibility
To be considered for the scholarship, the applicant must:

• Be a Catholic young woman
• Apply and be accepted into Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School
• Meet financial need based upon criteria set by Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
• Have an above average academic record.

How to Apply

• Interested young women in the eighth grade should contact the Young Scholar Office to obtain an application packet.
• The completed application must be received by December 1st.
• Financial aid applications from OLSH must be completed in a timely manner.
• Financially eligible young women will be invited for an interview in early spring.

The symbol for the Youthtowne Young Scholars Program highlights the four major values that are emphasized in the YYS Program. The church and cross represent the Catholic faith, upon which the program is centered. The fleur-de-lis represents the virtue of peace, encouraging the young women to be proclaimers of peace and to follow the example of Mary, the Mother of God. The lion represents leadership, a quality we hope to instill in the young women in the program. The quill represents academics, and the high academic standards to which students in the Youthtowne Young Scholars program are held. We believe all of these values work together to support a well-rounded and balanced young woman.
